How long have you been with Erica and Knocked-Up Fitness and Wellness? What is your role?
I have been with Erica and Knocked-Up Fitness and Wellness since 2012 as the Art Director. My role is maintaining the website and creating/designing a variety of the program materials (like workout PDFs and coursebooks etc.)
What is your favorite part about what you do?
I love being creative and designing new things.
What is your favorite way to stay healthy?
I love to go on waterfall hikes around Portland and use nature as a way to stay active. I like to challenge myself with multiple rounds of Whole30 (I’ve completed 4 rounds so far which is something I never thought I would be able to accomplish). Essential oils are also a big part of my life. I use them daily and feel it helps my emotional/mental health.
Have you always been into fitness and wellness?
No – it really wasn’t until we moved to Oregon 4 years old that I started being more active and getting out in nature and it wasn’t until I was pregnant with my second child that I started becoming more aware of what I was putting on and in my body (I’m still a huge work in progress hah!)
What is your favorite workout video from the membership or CRP?
I like the upper body workouts. My kids are heavy so they help me feel stronger and like I can hold them longer! I also get arm pain often from being hunched over at a computer all day, so the stretching of my arms feels amazing.
How does your core work effect you everyday?
Recently I have been trying to focus on better posture since I work at a computer all day long. I feel like core work and posture go hand-in-hand.
How do you find time to stay healthy?
With my job, 2 kids and another one on the way it’s definitely hard! We have been cooking at home a lot more that we used to which allows us to cook healthier meals and make better choices. We also have been trying to get out into nature on the weekends and do more activities that require being active as a family.
What is something you want us to know about you?
I am a work in progress and it’s okay if you are too. I am still learning and still trying to make a healthy lifestyle a priority. We are all at different levels of our wellness journey, and it’s okay to still be learning!
